The Promise is the third single released by the Duran Duran offshoot band Arcadia. It was released by Parlophone Records in 1986 as the group's second UK single. It peaked at number 37 on the UK Singles Chart.

The single mix for "The Promise" was heavily edited down from the album's hefty 7:28 to a leaner, more radio-friendly 4:45. In fact, even Alex Sadkin and Ron Saint Germain's "Extended remix" clocked in at only 7:05, almost 25 seconds shy of the album cut.

Dove c’è Barilla c’è casa è probabilmente uno degli slogan più noti della pubblicità italiana, se non altro perché da venticinque anni a questa parte ci viene riproposto continuamente, con accluse le recenti polemiche su cosa intendano i dirigenti della Barilla per “famiglia”. Al di là di questo, soprattutto negli anni ’80 gli spot della ditta alimentare parmigiana hanno segnato un’epoca, sia per le brevi storie che vi venivano raccontate (la bambina che trova un gattino nello spot qui di seguito è probabilmente la più famosa), sia soprattutto per il tema musicale che accompagnava gli stacchi pubblicitari, che divenne celeberrimo.

Il motivo, come non molti sanno, non era in realtà un jingle realizzato per lo spot: si trattava invece del brano Hymne di Vangelis, il famoso compositore greco. La canzone, già usata per un documentario e in parte per il film Momenti di gloria, fu riarrangiata dai Press Agency, un gruppo strumentale, e utilizzata appunto nello spot per parecchi anni, tanto da venire indelebilmente associata al marchio Barilla. www.cinquecosebelle.it

"What You Need" was the lead single off the album in Australia and New Zealand, while it was in USA and Europe the second single after "This Time" and was the band's first American Top Ten hit, peaking at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.
